John Lennon once said "I believe in everything until it's disproved. So I believe in fairies, the myths, dragons. It all exists, even if it's in your mind. Who's to say that dreams and nightmares aren't as real as the here and now?

I can agree with him on that. The things I imagine are real to me. Just because they are not real to someone else does not make them less than what they are in my mind.

ALL cultures have dragon or serpent myths ( and sometimes both) Some say this is a primal memory of when snakes in the grass of the African plains were a very deadly and daily threat to own nomadic ancestors. It is also possible that like the pygmy mammoth and the giant ground sloth remnant populations of giant reptiles survived long enough to be incorporated into human mythology. The giant moniter of Australia is a prime example. Along with the Moa and Elephant bird. All these were around when modern man was exploring the world at large.

Dragons definately existed. Although different cultures view dragons with different details, the main fact is that there is a huge flying lizard in the sky. The mexicans had a feathered dragon called Quetzo.. something. Africans had "wyverns" and Europeans had the medieval dragons. Chinese had the royal dragons with 5 fingers and the non royal ones with just 4. Egyptians also had dragons but im unsure of what its called. Japan had kirins which sometimes had dragon heads, not sure if theyre considered dragons though. Since there are all these different people of different culture claiming that there are gaint flying lizards in the sky, we cant deny the fact that there is. Although information can travel around quick, it is highly doubtful that it can reach around the world back in the old times.

Every culture has legends of dragons. Yes they did exist. Perhaps people misunderstood what they seen when they seen them. Perhaps they were a type of dinosaur.
"For a rose by any other name would smell as sweet" to quote Shakespeare.

In any case something existed to inspire so many different stories of dragons, in many different cultures, long before they were able to connect with one another and compare notes.

The Dragon in it's many forms is found in every culture around the world. So something must have at one time existed to cause so many diverse races to embrace the dragon. Maybe my mother in law really has had past lives.

deirdrefaith,
I totally know that Dragons have existed in the physical at one time. I also know that they still exist in the etheric/astral realm.
I have had a number of encounters with a dragon that goes by the name of Tohlar. "Human" logic can not comprehend, but I can not deny my own experiences. He has guided me to places and has also protected me and has aided me in healing work.
The human mind is small....the spiritual mind is open. :):):)

The concept of Dragon is worldwide. And Dragons did exist, though not in the way that mythology presents them. We know them today as dinosaurs. It sound like a stretch, but consider this. How would you, as a primitive person, with no knowledge of fossils and no concept of extinction, explain giant footprints crawling up a hillside? Or Giant bones which don't belong to any animal you Hunt or would want to hunt? Fossils are found all over the world and fossilized footprints are not uncommon. So the logical explanation is a great reptilian creature with immense strength, the ability to fly and even magical powers. In fact if you cut out the magical powers, you have a pretty basic description of a dinosaur. But to be fare to our ancestors, in their mythology, very few animals didn't have magical powers.
I hope this helped you a little. If you would like more info feel free to contact me.
