My wife and I are having a bit of a disagreement on the meaning.

Full lyrics below for reference:

"Take me out to the ball game,
Take me out with the crowd.
Buy me some peanuts and cracker jack,
I don't care if I never get back,
Let me root, root, root for the home team,
If they don't win it's a shame.
For it's one, two, three strikes, you're out,
At the old ball game."

the original song was written from the perspective of a woman trying to convince her husband/boyfriend to take her to a game, even though women didn't go to baseball games. it means that she doesn't care if she ever sees another game, she's just going to cheer and enjoy the game that she does get to see

it means you don't care if you ever get back home because the ball game is so much fun and it's a really good game!

It means no matter how long the game lasts they will stay for the whole game.

Time flies when you're having fun... You don't care if the game seemingly goes on forever (or extra innings)

That is my interpretation.

Enoying the game to the fullest extent and never wanting it to end.

It shows how sports have made people care about them even though they are stupid.
