Prob so you feel like youre getting some privacy and they do it out of respect. Who the hell wants to strip right in front of the doctor anyway? You shouldnt have to feel like you're in a porno when all you're getting is a checkup. They dont see you totally naked anyway. Thats what the robe is for. They check the parts of you they need to while the others stay covered. Its not like they walk back into the room and you all of a sudden de-robe,is it? The robe is so you have some level of privacy. Trust me,when I have to wear the robe I clutch it shut like its a blanket.=) No need for all to be exposed.

It's a privacy matter and don't you think it's respectful? Do you WANT them standing there while you are putting that oh so fashionable gown on?

Besides, it is not typical that a doctor sees you entirely naked all at once. You should be draped. The only part of your body that should be exposed is the area that he / she is examining.

lol, I don't know excuse my grammar I have carpal tunnel and it hurts to move my fingers to the right so Im not going to use any punctuations lol

anyways this reminds me of a story, once I was at the doctors for a broken collar bone and the nurse sent me into the room with one of those dress thingys to put on, but when you have a broken collar bone you can't lift your arm. try putting on your shirt without moving your left arm at all, just holding it across your chest. well I was naked and I was having trouble putting it on, I heard the doctor talking right outside the door I was like crap I gotta get this off or he's gonna see my boobies lol, so I rushed and it hurt but in the knick of time, just as he walked in I got the dress on. fun definitiley. that wasnt as interesint as it seemed in my head. but thats kind of like reverse your story, he was coming in when I was changing not leaving lol!

here's the REAL answer... we are SO busy and have so many things to do that we'd rather leave the room for a few minutes and sign paperwork, call in prescriptions, return phone calls - than stand there for several wasted minutes while someone gets undressed. That's the honest truth.

Other docs - please confirm!!!!!

And do you really want to undress in front of us? Think about it.....

out of respect for your privacy. and, for the most part, they don't see you "naked"... just certain bits at a time. Many people feel very nervous and vulnerable, and it can be somewhat humiliating to undress in front of someone else. It just allows them to keep their personal distance.

It's a question of respect for the patient. I know that I'd feel very uncomfortable if the doctor saw me changing my clothing to one of those paper gowns.

They leave the room because you are so ugly and the least that they see you naked it's better for them, because they can only take so much.

will it is just to give you privacy because when you are in a operation they are trying to save you so they have too but if you are in your area getting changed then it would be disrespectful to watch you because there will be on reason to see you like that
