I was TOLD that they can't possibly dream if they have nothing to go on as far as dreaming about a tree, for example, if you never saw one. I guess this really just goes for those who are born blind.
However, who's to say that blind people can't dream...you can't know unless you're blind. They may have their own dream-like "visions" while they're asleep: other than that information, I really don't know...

properly, it particularly is stressful to do, yet sure. I dream. i'm blind from delivery. i exploit a 2nd sight in case you will to work together. i'm a uncommon blind, Hemeralopic. I even have in basic terms approximately no innovative and prescient while uncovered to mild. I see utilising certainly one of those resolocation. As an merchandise vibrates, it sends out what's termed a resonation, which acts like certainly one of those metadata, and counting on resonation length, i'm getting texture, shape, and colours. It has required 11 or so years of no sight in any respect, and then an extremely substantial discovery to realize this. I even have perfected the strategy. There bypass, I even have had some seen desires. i've got not been waiting to dream in it sluggish, even though it particularly is possible.

I have to admit, this has never occurred to me. This is a guess only, I really have no knowledge about it.
It would make sense (to me) that if they were able to see at one time, they would be able to visualize, from memory, in dreams even after losing their sight. But if they never had the ability to see, I would think they couldn't in their dreams. Unless they have the ability to visualize somehow inside their brain, like you would do if you closed your eyes and made something up that you'd never actually seen. All of the other senses are heightened when one sense is denied so maybe they can visualize things to look the way THEY perceive them to look.
I hope someone has some actual knowledge on this one, very respectable question really.

My mother lost her sight six years ago and she still "sees" in her dreams. Now I don't know about if a person who had been b lind since birth could see in their dreams. I'm pretty sure they would dream, however.
