I am a parent, so I see what you are saying - but I think it it the parents job to monitor what their kids do online. Maybe some of the questions are inappropriate or maybe they aren't from kids at all but wierd adults thinking they are having fun - it can be hard to tell sometimes. One of the questions I answered on here was supposedly from a young teenagers wanting to know if he had an std or if it was normal masterbation results - so I gave the benefit of the doubt and answered in a helpful way. Maybe it was a scared teen that has no clue about his body and no one to talk to - maybe not. But, it didn't hurt me to answer. I think if you are concerned that someone under 16 not be subjected to the content - then do not allow them to access it. Because I think it can be a helpful forum for adults, and maybe even for teens. It can be helpful to get different perspectives and I kinda view yahoo answers like that wierd conversation you might have with someone on a long bus ride or flight. Where you are for that moment in time honest and open and there is a connection. And aside from the serious stuff - there is fun here too.
So, I think that each household should restrict what they wish - based on their family's own needs and family values etc. But, I do not think Yahoo should pose any limits or try to sort by ages etc.

There is an age limit, but speaking as a parent, I am not naive enough to think my 14-year-old has not heard some/all of the language used here. I am a very involved parent & I try to keep my eye on him and keep the lines of communication open. I cannot protect him from the world forever, so I would rather deal with any issues while I still have the influence to do so. Better to send him out to the world prepared than to have him shell shocked and not knowing what to do.

Even on porn sites it asks for you to put in your age and you could say that you are 18 when you are really 10 and still get into the site so wtf does it matter anyone can be anyone online. I think Brad Paisley said it best when he sang his new one I am so much cooler online. haha he was living at home and 30 and a pizza boy but online he was like Brad Pitt. So who cares about age anymore anyone can get online its a wierd day and age where everyone is online and has access to anything at the tip of their fingertips. you say it best "you don't know if it's little kids or immature adults sometimes...." nobody knows who they are talking to on here anymore and I think if little kids are subject to it they shouldn't be curious anyways. They should know better than to be on here and if they have a problem with it oh well they don't have a right to be upset about it or even the parents don't have a right to be upset about it cuz they should be watching their kids a lot better than they do. I know its hard to watch your kids every second of every day but still you sort of have to in this day and age...
BTW I am only one month old lol

Judging from some of the questions and answers I don't believe that there is an minimum age. Or a test for intelligence.

Yeah its quite awkward isn't it?
I'm technically a youngin [at 17] and with all the different age groups there are really diverse questions on here. Not everyone can relate to everyone. But we were all "that"age once! =P

It took me hours of laughing and a "violation" to realize that there isn't one, again the magic question arises, How would you enforce an age limit?

I've seen some questions where it looks like minors might be endangering themselves--girls offering themselves sexually, etc. I have, on ocassion, filed reports on them. I don't know if this does any good. But they do have a "child endangerment" category if you go to "report abuse."

No I disagree. Everyone has a mind of their own and everyone of those kids who are under the age of 16 have questions that would like to be answered just as much as any one of us. Some kids, I have to say are immature and as silly questions, but most are questions we can all realte to.

hard to say, some younger teens and such act maturely, and some adults act like 11 year olds. So a MENTAL age of 18 should be required,
