We've been to bush gardens x 2. Enjoyed it. But would like to go someplace else.

Where exactly are you going? Are you looking to visit amusement parks, or just something else in general?

If you're going to be vacationing in the Virginia Beach/ Williamsburg Va area, I'll recommend checking out the Virginia Living Museum. It's very much for families. The museum features live animals that are native to Virginia. They feature 4 galleries, tons of aquariums, and a beautiful outdoor trail that wraps around a lake, that has their large animals on display. Their collection includes, red wolves (which are endangered), coyotes, a bobcat, otters, deer, turkey, racoons, foxes, and beavers. Plus, they have this really cool maze exhibit for families right now too.
Another nice attraction in the Hampton roads area is the Virginia Aquarium (which is under renovation right now) and the Virginia Air and Space Center, as well as the Children's museum in Portsmouth.

If you are looking for an amusement park to take the kids to, King's Dominion near Richmond is pretty good for families. They have Nickelodian themed kids areas, as well as a pretty nice waterpark inside the amusement park (for no extra fee!).
