I have a new oscar that is floating on his side on the bottom of the tank but he is looking around and still breathing! We have a male guarami that is aggressive and pecked on him a few times and we seperated them. They have been seperated for hours now but he still isnt doing any good! Whats wrong with him?

That is fairly typical of an Oscar that has just been moved to a new tank. They are famous for sulking like that. Given a few days he will adjust and be up and around but he will need to have some peace as he settles in so if the gourami is still picking at him, move the gourami for a few days.

I've seen them sulk as well, but baby oscars are also notorious for having internal infections too. How long have you had the oscar? If he's been in there for a week or so and slowly went down hill, I'd be really concerned. If you just got him today, then he is probably scared from that bully gourami.

The oscar has not got adusted to the water temperature. It has nothing to do with Gourami, unless the gourami is 3x bigger than oscar. Oscar is hell tough, no gourami can take him on for SURE. It's the water temperative, give him time to adjust and recover.

They often do that... When i got my oscars, i thought there was something wrong, but i just looked on the internet and found out that that's what they do.... They will get comfortable with it, if you keep it in with the gourami
