Thanks everyone for the prompt replies.
I've been trying to fix an internet connection (another question for later) problem and i thought, restoring my pc to an earlier time might help.

I've been trying to restore to several 1-2 week-old restore points. doesn't work.

If you have a norton product that's your problem. Norton 2006 and later products have a security feature that prevents outside programs from making changes to the Norton product. This security feature can prevent Windows System Restore from changing Norton files, resulting in the "Restoration Incomplete" message.

You can try the above support solution. I tried this solution but it did not work for me. You are better off getting rid of norton. I got rid of norton and all problems went away.

You can't use the restore point you are trying.
For some reason, its corrupted. I don't think there is a way around that. You should several restore points from the day before and after though....

Flo-nitty's correct on his remark. I've tried that once before and got the same message. So I just tried a different day that was near the one I wanted and I got my restoration.
