Is it better to be rich but think yourself poor, or to be poor but think yourself rich?

there is a saying "perception is reality"

So I'd rather be poor, but think I'm rich...

take my grandfather...thinks he's on the moon (he's crazy)...but to him he REALLY is on the moon, exploring...he's having a BLAST...

so I'd rather THINK/Believe I was rich...cause then I would be! :)

I would imagine its better to be rich and think yourself poor and the reason I say this is because...If you're rich and think yourself poor atleast you have the money to do the things you desire to if you really wanted to. If you're poor and think yourself rich you're pretty much stuck with that situation. Having options and/or flexibility is always a better arrangement.

I don't think the rich ever think of themselves as poor. Some poor people don't see themselves as poor financially, and other poor people know they are rich in love.

I think it's better to be poor and think yourself rich, not necessarily money rich, but family, children, job, neighbors rich.

I can't imagine the benefits of thinking you are poor so I would have to think it is better to be poor and think you are rich. When you think you are poor, you do not enjoy as much I suspect.

It would be fun to have a bunch of money, but it creates too many problems. So sadly, I would rather be poor and think that I am rich.
