The only thing that matters in the end is your legacy. I ask myself will I make my family and the World a better place or will I leave my children Deaf, Dumb and Blind to the things I could have taught them. Even if they choose not to listen I can rest easy knowing I tried to make them better people. This is all that really matters to me. Think about the greatest people who have ever live. Jesus, Buddha, Martin Luther King, Abraham Lincoln, John and Robert Kennedy, Mother Theresa, Gandhi and so on. We remember them because of there legacy. The people most remembered in history are the ones who made life better and the ones who made life worse (Hitler). I want to be remembered on the good side. This should matter even if it's on a much smaller scale. I know you have a grandparent, Aunt, Uncle, Cousin, Teacher, Friend ETC who effected your life in a great way before they left this place. I'm sure you apply the life lesson's they taught you to your life and teach the virtues to others. So that person's life did matter because they had a positive effect on the World. Even if it was only a hand full (5) of people who were touched by that person. Those hand full can effect a hand full (5 times5=25) and that handfull can effect a third handful (5tmes 25=125). That equals 125 people who's life was changed in a positive way by one person who gave you love. So yes it does matter in the end.

Whether it matters at the end or not is clearly only part of the question, at the end - if there is a judgment day for all of us, wouldn't you want to hold your head up proud for the decisions you made and if the end is just the end, isn't the legacy you leave for your family and the lives you touch more important to be a positive reflection of your life rather than a negative reflection? To me, the end is as important as the beginning.

No. Because you try so hard, and get so far. But in the end, it doesn't even matter

Of COURSE it matters!! When it's all over, and there's that party with all the people who knew me, I want to be remembered as a good father, a great friend, a benevolent but viscious King, and a wise preacher...not to mention a good looker, and a hot lover!!

In The End
By Linkin Park

It starts with
one thing/I don't know why
It doesn't even matter how hard you try
keep that in mind/I designed this rhyme
to explain in due time
All I knoe
Time is a valuable thing
Watch it fly by as the pendulum swings
Watch it count down to the end of the day
The clock ticks life away
Its so unreal
Didn't look out below
Watch the time go right out the window
Trying to hold on/But didn't even know
Wasted it all just to
Watch it go
I kept everything inside and even tho I tried/It all fell apart
What it meant to me will evetually/be a memory/of a time when

I tried so hard
And got so far
But in the end
It doesn't even matter
I had to fall
And lose it all
But in the end
It doesn't even matter

One thing/i don't know why
Doesn't even matter how hard you try
Keep that in mind/I designed this rhyme
To remind myself How
I tried so hard

In spite of the way you were mocking me
Actin like I was a part of ur property
Remembering all the times you fought w/ me/I'm surprised
It got so (far)
Things aren't the way they were before
You wouln't even reconize me anymore
Not that you knew me back then
But it all comes bak to me
In the end
You kept evetyhing inside and even though I tried/it all fell apart
What it meant to me/will eventually/be a memory/of a time when I

Tried so hard
And got so far
But in the end
It doesn't even matter
I had to fall
And lose it all
But in the end
It doesn't even matter

Repeat 2x:
I put my trust in you
Pushed as far as i can go
For all this
Theres only one thing u should know

I tried so hard
And got so far
But in the end
It doesn't even matter
I had to fall
And lose it all
But in the end
It doesn't even matter
