Don't to the convient store thing........ No you're not to young to start a business...... Do you have any ideas how many 20 somthings are millionairs by starting an online busoness ( watch the Danny Doitch show)...... DO you have a hobby???? Find a way to make money at that. Start small and build your customer base. Freewebs.com , to start your web site FOR FREE!!!!!!!!

It is wonderful that you are such a young and inspiring business entrpeneur but have you given any thought as to how many hours it will take to run your own convenience store...especially if it is open 24/7. Ran a retail store once that was open 7 days a wk from 6am - 6pm. Lot of hours for the pay. All you do is sleep & work! If you want to own your own business why not try direct sales...there are some really great companies out there that offer flexible hours and unlimited income. I have a friend involved in one and she is doing very well.

Take some business and accounting classes at the college you are attending. In some cities, there are agencies who hold classes on owning your own business. In order to get financing from a bank, you have to have good credit. They will also want to see a detailed business plan as well as other stuff. Also, educate yourself on the laws that govern small business owners in your city. You can also go to Barnes and Noble on line and get a book or two about owning your own business and see what all goes into it.

Definitely work in the industry first - I personally would never want to do this - most people in this business don't have much of a family or social life because they spend so much time at their store(s)

If you have the money and think you have the ambition then go for it. But only after you go through every single possibility and outcome that may come from you devoting alot of your time and resources to make your business succeed. Good luck!
