A-rod would be much, much more appreciated as a player for any other team other than the Yankees or the Rangers.
He would be dumb not to move just for his state of overall happiness -- money is certainly no issue for him.
I haven't heard anything about him moving to the Red Sox, and frankly I'd be surprised if he ends up there. For one, the Red Sox don't need him -- Ortiz can hit the ball just as well. For another, Steinbrenner wouldn't want A-rod to go to their rival team.
I'm guessing that he will remain with the Yankees for at least one more season after this one. After that, he'll probably end up in the AL Central where there are four very competitive teams looking for an edge over the others. Chicago or Detroit would be the most likely destinations here.
The Athletics may jump on him too in the AL West.
Otherwise, he'll probably end up in the NL with a team like the Nationals who would try to use him as the Rangers did -- to get their team out of the cellar. It won't work just like how it didn't work with the Rangers.

He will go probably where he can make the most money. There were six teams reported as most likely destinations. If Barry Bonds retires I wouldn't be surprised to see him on the Giants because they won't have Bonds' salary to be concerned with anymore. I don't think he will come back to the Yankees. Red Sox is a maybe, especially since he almost signed with them the last time he was a free agent. The White Sox are probably a no because their President and GM are cheap. Depending who becomes the new owner of the Cubs he could wind up there. If Mark Cuban winds up as the new owner you know he won't hesitate to spend the money, plus he is good pals with Lou Piniella. The Angels are a good possibility but their GM has said he doesn't want to pay more than $20Million a year. The Dodgers throw around a lot of money so that could be a possibility as well. I guess we will just have to wait and see what happens. I would like to see him go to a team that he thinks could win and not just the team who is willing to pay him most.

Even though I'm a Mets fan, I kind of want Alex Rodriguez to stay a New York Yankee. Even though I hate A-Rod its just going to be weird to see him in his arch nemesis's baseball uniform. But while Alex Rodriguez was a Texas Ranger, he wanted to be a free agent. Different teams made offers including the Boston Red Sox and the New York Yankees. The Yankees offered a little more money then the Red Sox did. He probably won't be a Red Sox. Boo Yankees!!!!

The Sox will make a move but the Red Sox dont have 32 million dollars.
They spent 51 million dolalrs on Dice K Matzusaka and some more millions of dollars on J.D. Drew.
The Yankees have the money though and if he wants the money he will head back to New York.
He is also not going to the Angels because the the Angels GM said he doesnt want to spend 30 percent of his payroll on one player.

I can understand why people think he will but I dont think so. The Red Sox players have not had the best relatioship with A-Rod. Remember the ball slap. Also the bosox have paid lugo big money and not sure he could be shifted to 3B if ARod wants SS back. I think a team like the Angels or Cubs (if Cuban buys them) is a better fit. Just hope that the Yanks changing their policy has not made Mo and Jorge bitter.

Its possible...A-Rod will most likely opt out of his contract making him a free agent.
And Mike Lowell probably isn't gonna be here next year so they're gonna be in the market for a 3rd basemen. My prediction is the Red Sox enter the bidding war as the first or second bidder and then they don't make any real high bids after that until just about the last second and they make a huge bid and blow everyone out of the water...wether someone matches or not I don't know

It's definitely possible. If the Red Sox can get rid of Manny Ramirez, it will definitely put the Red Sox as frontrunners to sign A-Rod. Some team may come out and surprise us by spending money like the Rangers did for A-Rod back in the day. Tampa Bay or Baltimore are the most likely in my opinion to "Step it up" financially if anyone does.
Most likely, it'll be a bidding war between New York, Boston, Los Angeles of Anaheim, and San Francisco.
San Francisco is my underdog pick to get him.

No, there are several Red Sox who despise him, and Theo (GM) wouldn't risk the team's chemistry for another bat, which they already have a surplus of.
Manny Ramirez would need to leave Boston for Rodriguez to be considered an option.
The Dodgers seem like the leader in the A-rod sweepstakes. They have older players on their way out, and they have the money to shell out.

Its almost impossible to tell where A-rod will end up at this point. So far the rumour mill has said...
Stay with NYY, go back to Seatle or Texas, sign new with LAA, LAD, CHC, CHW, NYM (with Reyes switching to 2nd) I am sure I am missing a few teams off of the rumor mill, but I wouldn't pay attention to any of this right now.
