exactly joseph, I agree EMO is just style (if you want to call it) just an excuse to jump into bandwagon

Emo kids are just lazy and weak. Instead of being a man and taking control of their life they want to cry all the time. They need to get a life and stop complaining.

"Emo" is a contraction of "emotional hardcore" which was a more melodic type of punk music that made a few ripples in the underground rock scene of the late 90's. Not a scene I had much time for, myself. More recently, "emo" has been used as a "catch-all" to refer to a social group who share different fashion and musical tastes, influenced by the look and sound of those early bands.
"Factor emotional insecurity" makes no sense to me, and I am a psychology PhD. It is certainly not a term in common use among practitioners.
I do know, however, that taking cheap shots at a group of distinctive and artistically-inclined people, through the anonymity of the internet in poorly-constructed sentences is the *very hallmark of insecurity*.

I'm not sure what your asking, but I think that people thinking suicidal thoughts is more gothic than emo. In my school, emo is a style. You try to be different than everyone else, but in essence, you're just jumping on the bandwagon.

It is away to express your personality yes some may be jumping on a bandwagon but others just may accidentally fall into it

I agree wit Augustine. Figurine... They are not original. Personally I'm not in to prep "cherry" girls or emo girls. I like girls that are real and down to earth. Also there own originality so they won't be like any other girl.

emos are not styles, nor emotional unstabilities, theyre just a way to express low self steem, and lonelinnes, although you can see sometimes groups of emos, but sometimes, they dont talk to each other, or hate each other, but dont express it to themsleves.
But, ive met some emos during my high school tesis, and none of them are nuts, just lonely and weird
