What ever you do don't drive it the foil will be cut to bits by the power steering pump and may stick in the steering rack pinion spool valve. If your car has a remote reservoir your in luck just disconnect the two or three hoses pull the bottle off and turn it fluid and all out into a drain pan hope you did not add fluid while running. Aluminum will not seal up the leaking steering rack. Have you driven a new honda lately?

Yes you absolutely must get it out. It is bad for your steering system to even have dust in your lines much less foil. It could very well block your system and cause you to have a steering problem at a crucial moment. I suppose it is not as serious as it would be if this had happened to your brake fluid master cylinder but it is still not a good thing.

I actually have a quite project-loose expertise of vehicles and that i might say that overfilling the optimal line by making use of an inch won't make a distinction. in case you sense the ought to do away with it purely take a skill sterring hose off and permit some drain out. I additionally dont have confidence including skill steerage fluid might in any way effect the back of the motor vehicle. there is no tie between the skill steerage and the rear of the motor vehicle. to not point out how did your fluid get low? Do you have a leak? in case you used it for a on an identical time as, on an identical time because it became low you have in all danger burned up the pump ensuing in a greater durable to instruct wheel. purely my .02 cents

I'd get it out for sure. Chance of blockage. Those power steering systems can go wrong without warning. Today I was looking at my mother's van that developed a leak in the house. When it was perfectly fine and leak free yesterday. It may seem fine for a while, but eventually it wont be.

For peace of mind there is a suction strainer in the fluid resovoir that the piece of foil can not restrict completely.Any hydraulic system, designed right, requires a strainer ahead of the pump.

Hi,
Please remove the foil from the reservior.Dont think too much.Just use siphon to drain out the oil from the reservoir and take out the reservior(you can expect some oil leak) and remove the foil and replace it.It may take you max 1.5 hrs and you may require oil pan(clean and dry),screw drivers, gloves.

Yes you should get it out of there. How you get it out is a whole other story.....You will have to let us know how you did finally get it out. It could very well cause a blockage and in the event it gets chewed up into tiny pieces it could move further into the system and cause you even more grief.

You definitely need to fish it out, it could cover up the suction port on the pump and ruin it. Sorry, good luck!
