~~~ enki, I think it's kind of ironic that you asked this question today, because I just asked myself why I am paying $50.00 a month for Direct TV when I go for days without turning my TV on.And when I do, I only watch the Disney Channels and all the South Park episodes I have TVoed. I won't watch regular TV because I am avoiding any Newscasts and commericials. The Disney Channels don't have anything disturbing on and I really enjoy the shows, even if they're designed for children. South Park is just plain funny and I can skip the commericials when I watch. Anyway, the news disturbs and upsets me,the commericials for antidepressants are way too real ,so I just stopped watching all that earlier this year,and I don't miss it. Maybe I don't know what's going on in the world, but at least I'm not crying over it anymore. ~~~
I am a political gal. I write a couple of articles and I just can't stand watching this next Presidential election campaigning one more day on TV.
This has been going on for the past 18 months, with 40 people running for office between the two............it is SO boring, and SO unbelievably pandering to the populace at ever whim of a poll.
I don't want to see any more until the Dem's and Reps. choose their people and then not until 45 days before the election. Stop the madness on TV..people really don't pay attention this far out. Sorry, I got carried away. I am going mad I think.
What I try to avoid seeing on Television, would be Movies that show a lot of Violence, especially when my Grandson, Jacob, is here with us. Have you seen the commercial where some working People are Hungry and their stomachs start growling, and they go and say"Shut Up", while hiting their Stomachs, well, now my Granson thinks it is normal to say that word, and my Son-in-law, spanks him for saying it, so I tell him write, or call the people that invented that commercial, and voice your opinion on it. I did.
Any news on the Bush administration. He was supposely elected as the great "unifier", but has been anything but. He stalls, stonewalls, doesn't fess up to facts about his Vice President, his staff, his Attorney General--nothing, he knows he's in a no-win war situation and so he argues and argues with Congress, even those in his own party, with plans to bring the troops home. I'm soooooo tired of it all. He's the first President in my lifetime that I will not watch on TV. I have no desire.
Commercial after commercial after commercial. If they would make all the commercials the way they do for the SUPERBOWL, then it would not be so bad. Those commercials make you laugh. OH, well ,that's tv for you.The worst of these commercials they show, is right after dinner, you turn on the tube,and here is a freaking tampon commercial, now we do not need to see that. The girls know what to buy without having to see them on tv, and I am so glad I do not have a big screen, so whats up with that.lol
Huhhh....I'm not really the television fanatic but everytime I turn the tv on there is soooo much of exposing going on. Hurts.
Times have certainly changed butI think actors and actresses should stay in their limits.
Everything. Well, except CSpan weekends when they have some truly intelligent people, & that's insightful. I get everything online that interests me--politics--world affairs. Some people say the "media" preys on us. On the contrary, they "feed" us what the majority want, keep up those ratings! A sad ediitorial comment on the majority. So, that pretty much sums it up!
