hm if someone was to tell me right now, i woudln't want to know. It would be like a deadline for an assignment, and ii'd so much rather not be dreading it as each year gets closer. and if i knew how i was going to die (say it was an accident) i would become paranoid and get some kind of anxiety disorder whenever i was in a car or something. so i'll take the surprise.
number 4.

Part of me would like to know how and when so I know how much time I have and could make sure everything is taken care of. But if I found out it was something awful, like I was going to be raped and torchured until I die, or I'd suffer from cancer, that could pretty much ruin my life as I'd live in fear.

1)
Because I wouldn't want to know WHEN, because then I'd know exactly when I died and I'd be fearful of that moment. If I knew HOW I die, I'd be a little more touchy around cars, if I was going to die getting hit by a car or something. ;)

Actually, you do have a choice as to how you die, when you die thus how and when you die. However, I would prefer the time-tested and conventional method of number 4, just let it be one hell-of-a surprise.

Hi Melody,
I guess, if I knew, I only had X amount of time left.. then I could tell everyone goodbye, I love them, quit my job and live a little, and put my affairs in order.... But knowing exactly when or how?... I think that would be a little too scary for anyone to want to know.....
>>>>>
Because, regardless of what I did in the meantime... I would still be bummed, waiting for that fateful day.....
>>>>>
Thanks, for the question! :)
My regards!
Take care!

2. When I am age 120.
3. Already answered.
4. I know. My death date is my final goal on my life plan.
And I will die strong, big, and free of disease and pain.

Could this be a paradox? If I know when and how I'm going to expire, would I act to avoid my fate? Would I avoid my fate, or would my actions (based on my knowledge) simply hasten my end as foretold?
Hell, I say just surprise me.

You already do have the choice. It's called suicide.
In suicide, the individual gets to decide how they die and when they die.
