The custom in the olden days was for the baker to add an extra loaf or bun or muffin to the regular dozen, to give the customer a feeling of getting something for free. So, a "baker's dozen" is always 13 items. This was long before Einstein's time.

As the Bran muffin approaches the Speed of light it gains mass, hence density. Eventually it's mass/density approaches the density of my MOTHER'S bran muffins and we attain singularity and it becomes a black hole.

Usually 13, to make sure that it's not less than 12. Nobody wants to get a hand lopped off for selling short measure.

M: mass C: velocity of light (3 hundred,000,000 m/s) or 3.00 x 10^8 in scientific notation. That loopy Einstein. in case you have been to verbally clarify the equation: skill equals mass cases the fee of light squared.
