In my eyes, he is. To me together with Mohammed Ali he is the greatest sportsman ever. This is not because of all those impressive records but because of the immense pressure under which he lives from the 1.1 billion Indians & many more around the world. The expectations from are huge. I salute the man(Sachin) for being able to keep himself well grounded & being able to deliver to satisfy all those expectations. This not the case with Brian Lara & Ricky Ponting. They just go out there & play freely. They know that nobody will be burning their effigies if they fail to deliver. Forgive me,but i'll go one step further & say that he is far better than even Sir Don Bradman. I am giving him(Sachin) another nick name today & that is 'THE CRICKET GOD'. He thoroughly deserves it. Give me your precious opinion on that

I fully agreewith your views except that he is far better than Sir Donn Bradman as I feel that it will be more appropriate to term him next to Bradman as he has not been able to match the average and strike rate of Bradman yet..

He would definitely be in the best cricket team of all time - but Bradman has to be a standout. Averages have basically stayed similar since test cricket started (excepting they are slightly favoring the batsman more these days). I read once that statistically, looking at averages, it would take approximately 120,000 test cricketers before another approached Bradmans average - Tendulkar didn't come close. Bradman - most dominate figure in any sport - plus his career was 20+ years interupted by a war.

I Do think;
Sachin is the best ,some of the reasons
1.Best batsman.
2.He is Honest.
3.Potentially the best.
4.Best cricketing brain.
5.Never say die attitude.
6.Fought against several injuries for the game.
7.Will always remain young.

haha,,, he is not the greatest, there r many other great players in the cricket world who r far more, 1000 times better than sachin.
u just only promote him cus ur an indian, he is nothing in front of other new good players...
indian team is also waste they've just got only lots of fans frm their country who lives all over the world, but those who know well about cricket knows well that they r not good in cricket.
& the only thing which is great in sachin is, he has the more number of runs scored in the ODI's but his batting is nothing in front of other new small good players.
so try to reduce & stop talking the old rubbish stuffs again & again, ok gud bye
cheers!

Definitely, he is not the greatest cricketer. Perhaps he could be the greatest in India.
