Very simply.
By having you religion declare it immoral, and your group declare it unethical.
However, that does nothing to make it illegal.
Morals are a social, cultural and religious issue. And the Constitution prohibits religions from dictating law.
Ethics are a matter of voluntary participation in a group, usually a profession or large organization. So your group ca declare something against their own ethical code, but that does nothing to make it unethical for anyone following a different set of rules.
Neither morals nor ethics are universal.

I hate abortion, but I don't think the federal government should have any say in it. It should be left up to the states. The 10 amendment says: The powers not delegated to the United States by the Constitution, nor prohibited by it to the States, are reserved for the States respectively, or to the people.
Here's my problem. If you kill a pregnant women, you'll go down for double homicide. So what the gov. is saying here is that a fetus is a human being and has rights. So as far as I'm concerned if they say it here, than they should be consistent across the board.
I'm am against the federal gov regulating abortion. Although I would like to see the states outlaw it, if they were the ones making the ruling on it I would honor their decisions either way.
Ultimately, I don't even see it as a question of morality, I see it as a question of what right does the government have to make a decision on this either way?

because its killing an innocent life. and believe it or not life begins at conception. it says in the bible "even in thy mothers womb I knew ye". i think the question here should be how can it be classified as morally right or ethical! i have been in an abortion clinic and i have seen living baby fetus's dumped into trash cans even one that was actually BREATHING! so no there is no morality in taking the life of a child no matter how u look at it! and im really not trying to judge anyone but there is no gray area in right or wrong. my wife had an abortion when she was 16 and she still wakes up in tears from the ordeal and the mental anguish she has had to go through. it is an unethical practice and the only reason it should be performed is if the mother was raped. some kid who can't keep her pants up should have to face up to the consequences of her actions and raise her child.if they are old enough to have sex they are old enough to deal with it like an adult!

Because there are people who believe it is a separate life from that of the mother and therefore it is like killing another which is morally wrong and unethical. Of course, if you do not view a fetus in such a way then you do not think that.

It may be hard for you to understand, because I'm assuming you are a liberal, and don't think people like Saddam gassing over 100k kurds was wrong, or unethical. But, many of us believe a life is the most precious thing in the world, and to take it away from a baby (yes, a baby) is a disgusting, evil, immoral, and unethical practice.
And for the comment, "that doesn't make it illegal", no it doesn't. are you saying all laws in the history of the world are just? Did you forget slavery was legal at one time, was that not immoral?

Its morally wrong, beacuse its basically killing a person and its unethical, beacuse you have no right to do so.

unless someone has been in the position where abortion has been one of their only options its very difficult for them to comment, let alone judge.

Morals are personal and shouldn't be legislated.
