and what year was it that you REALLY grasped what the game was all about?
What was it about your team and that season that did it for you?
I was 5 and 6 when the Cards played the WS (67-68), I loved BB but I dont think it was until '69 when I really got it, although memory is a bit fuzzy. I think I went to a lot more games in 1969 than before.

I was 7 when I got hooked. My dad took me to my first Tiger game, and I remember walking into Tiger Stadium thinking this was heaven. I understand it more 2 years later when My Tigers beat The St. Louis Cardinals in 7 games after being down 3 games to 1 in 1968. WOW! THAT WAS INCREDIBLE!
And Tim McCarver making the last out of the '68 WS by popping out to Bill Freehan.

It was 2001 and I was 9 years old when my cousins took me to my first baseball game it was the Oakland A's vs. the LA Dodgers and the game was sooooo fun it was a 1:15 start and didn't end until 5:30 it was a 15 inning game and the A's ended up losing 4-2 off and Sheffield HR :( but, I still had fun and now I'm a HUGE Giants fan, I fell in love with Pac Bell Park (now AT&T) it was a beautiful setting and it was my 11th birthday when I went for the first time and I saw Barry Bonds blast his 600th carrer HR

I was about age 4 and would not miss the NBC Saturday game of the week for anything. My Big Red Machine won the next 2 WS and I was totally hooked on baseball.

I really am only following baseball now and I never really played on a team accept when I was six. Back then it was just about getting out there and having fun! That was about 20 years ago. I'm still learning stuff, just like with football since I only started getting into that a couple seasons ago!
This year I went to an out of town game with a friend because the tickets were really good. We didn't care about either team we just wanted to go! Nine rows behind home plate! That would have been a fortune for either one of our teams that we like.

I was 7 inj 1961 when the homerun chase between Mantle and Maris was on. We were lucky enough to have a black and white TV with rabbit ears and we could get the old WPIX from NYC on the set. The chase was great. Mantle would hit one then Maris the following day. It was a horserace to the end when Maris pulled away. It was a golden age for baseball.

I was nine when a friend got me playing the game in the backyard. We ended up rooting for different teams, though; he was already a firm Pirates fan, while I cheered on the Phillies (I had no idea WHAT I was getting myself into!). But it was quite memorable seeing my first live game at the late, unlamented Veterans Stadium. It was also an unforgettable night when the Phils put almost 100 years of Phutility behind them and won the 1980 World Series.

I have been watching and playing baseball since i was four. But I really didn't grasp the excitement and meaning of it until about 8 or 9.

I was about 10 when I first really understood the game. That was in 1972, the year the Oakland A's won the first of three straight WS titles.
