just used US law/US Constitution to run the country & keep the Supreme court?

Everyone would have to obey the law of the land or as would happen today they would be arrested by the police & put on trial & be punished if found guilty just like now.

However, there would still be local town govts. run in a direct democracy type atmosphere.

And there would be one leader who would be voted for in a natonal election for foreign policy duties & to be commander in chief only. Kind of like a Secretary of State/Sec. of Defense.

I can't really get into any more details but as a general idea might it be possible to do?

The Constitution requires (and establishes) the Executive and Legislative branches.

So, you can't get rid of them and follow the Constitution at the same time.

BIG PROBLEM: The Executive Branch is the branch that ENFORCES the laws. You could prosecute, but you wouldn't have anyone to arrest the individual, etc. Bad idea.
Also, the Constitution couldn't be kept. It would have to be changed drastically to get rid of the other branches of government. The Constitution lays out the structure of US Gov't.

Who would enforce the laws? Who would create new laws when new situations come up? Who would create treaties and trade agreements with foreign nations?

You say we can elected these officials but wouldn't that just be another branch of the government, say an executive one?

How would the justices get on the bench? would they be elected or would someone appoint them. Either case there would still be a turn over of justices and political opinions would still come into play.
