Mine was a dog. I think he was about the second dog we had. He used to smile, he'd pull his lips up and wag his tail. He was a pretty beefy dog, so when people saw him smiling, they thought he was growling.

I miss him SO bad, he was so loyal. If he heard fighting (mainly mum and dad) he'd start barking and stand near mum so no one hurt her. He loved us kids so much.

He had a hard life and I really wish I had him now so he could of had the life he deserved. He was an angel with four legs. I would give anything to play with him again.

Tell me about your most favourite pet!!

Lynette - everyone else is stupid for not seeing the beauty in an animal like you did!! Doesn't matter what kind of animal it is, you can get attached even if they are small or big.

I had a cat named Bubba, male of course. He was a huge 20 pound Hemingway. He was a stray when i got him and he turned out to be a great friend. He caught a couple of diseases, cat aids and leukemia. I finally had to have him put down, it was the saddest day of my life. He was my best friend. He was my favorite because he followed me everywhere, stayed in the fenced in yard. He slept with me and loved being brushed, the poor guy had never had anyone love him. Im glad and grateful i was able to give him a few good years before he passed. Ill miss him always!

As a Mother, of Seven Kids, I can tell you that we have been Animal Lovers, since the first born, we have had a lot of Dogs since I can remember, that we have lost count. Cats is another story, we have had more Cats, than Dogs, because My Girls, all together had a cat for each one of them. My favorite Dog I had that was my own, was a Mixed breed, that looked like the image of sputz, the Dog, of the Budweiser Beer. A gentle dog that the only handicap he had was not being able to talk like a human being. He was so loyal, that in the Morning he would wait until, I was through with my Daily chores, to start barking for his Food, and did he guard our house and yard, like a big responsibility, he had to take care of. I miss him a lot, and how I wish he did not have to Die, he had a chronic disease he could not shake off, so, we took him to the Vet, and was put to sleep.

My favorite pet was a cat named Be-Bee. I was there when she was born. I trained her almost like she was a dog. If you whistled she would come. If you told her no, she understood. She loved to play fetch. She never hurt anyone ever. She never came into the kitchen and wouldn't eat anything but her own food. She would always jump into your lap if you were crying, like she knew and was trying to comfort you. I loved her dearly. I had to put her down when she was diagnosed with cancer. The Vet said we had some time left, but I didn't want to see her suffer. For some time after she was gone, I kept seeing her in her usual spots. I would think, I need to get Be-Bee feed and remember she was gone. It was very painful and I miss her still. She has been gone now for 5 years. She had the best personality and no cat that I have had has come close to measuring up to my friend Be-Bee she is irreplaceable.

I am sorry to hear of your lose. I really do empathize with you.

My very first pet was a black lab mutt named Penny. My parents bought her when I was a baby and we practically grew up together. I could do anything I wanted to her and she would let me. I loved that dog so much!!!
She wasn't a very good hunting dog though, she'd always get over excited and go running before my dad shot the riffile, I grazed her with bullets a few times, but she never learned. She charge into the high grass scary up rabbits and birds and dad would have to wait an hour or so unhtil she came back, paws cut and bleeding.
When we left England and went to Alaska, my dad had to give her away. There was no wya she would survive 6 months in quarintine. I was 4 when we moved to Alaska and I remember asking my dad where Penny was. It broke his heart to tell me Penny stayed in England.
She would be 26 years old now.

My all time favorite pet was an Irish Setter named Caramel. She was my pet when I was in grade school up until I was 13 years old. At that time my parents were divorced and I don't know what happened to her. I ended up moving with my mom to another town and my dad had her for a while. Whenever I went through a tough situation... I had Caramel. I talked to her and I feel she understood ( as well as a dog can) my pain. My mom still has pictures of her I don't. I dream of her often even now after 34 years. I do wonder what happened to her.

My favorite pet was a chinchilla I had about a year and a half ago. I named him Pikachu, because that is exactly what he looked like. Every once in awhile I would let him out to run around the house, and he would just hop around exploring just about every room. The kids loved him. Chinchillas can jump about 6 ft. into the air, and one time after I had let him out, well, he disappered for a while. After hunting for him, I found that he had jumped into the trash can and couldn't get out! He was always very cuddly. He ended up dying last year though, I beleive because of the heat from the summer. He just didn't handle it very well, no matter what we did. They are used to very cool temperatures because they are originally from the Himalaya's. He was fine, until one point last year when we had to go without air conditioning for awhile. I feel so bad about that now.

My cat, Jeffrey is my best friend. He was a rescue cat that I got at 7 months of age. It took months before he really trusted me but now I am the kattsmeow! He follows me everywhere, will fetch, actually minds, if I call he comes right away, whether he is inside or out. He has a kitty door and he pretty much stays in my yard.He is a yellow tabby and quite the talker. I'm getting so I am beginning to understand a few myself, especially when he brings me some "catch" when I'm in bed. We are closing his door at night since the tree frog!

My favorite pet was my dog Wishbone. When he got knocked down by a car I went crazy and started screaming like a mad woman. It has been over two years and I still cry for Wishbone. I miss him dearly and will never forget him. My favorite pet which is alive is my adorable lovebird. He is the cutest little thing and has helped me cope with the loss of Wishbone. Heartfelt condolences and sympathy goes out to you for the loss of Roxanne. It truly is a painful experience. :(

I'm not sure that I had a favorite pet, but I did tend to favor the ones who accepted me. Like the pup from a litter who licked my fingers and looked at my face. I think the pet had chosen me. And from that point we had a bond. Of course the one dog I had in my childhood was taken away for some unknown reason. and what does that story have to do with ? I could connect the bonding of a pet to lasting emotional effects that influence decisions. That's another story.

There was Charlie, my black cat. He was so stupid, and never seemed to learn any better.
He'd be drinking from the toilet in the AM, one of us would come into the bathroom & turn on the light. He always was surprised and fell in.
Every day, he'd run down the stairs, come around the corner into the living room, bang his head into the leg of the coffee table.
He'd sleep on the padded kitchen chair, in direct line to the cool air from the AC. He'd turn over in his sleep, fall off the chair. Pick himself up with an "I meant to do that." attitude.
He always took a nasty swipe at the black cat in the full length mirror in the hallway.
Charlie developed kidney problems, and it got too hard to fix, so he had to be put down. I miss him. He was sooo dumb!
