Why do american women try to fool men and say they want equality?

Do american women only want equality only when it benefits them?
I have heard many women say its unfair that men can sleep around with alot of women and be players whereas vice versa a woman is a whore. Yet very few of them ask why society usually expects men to ask a woman out and pay for the entire date. They also dont question why men usually buy the drink for the women at a dance and not the other way around. They woudl say this is tradition but then wont admit that women not being expected to sleep around with men is also a tradition.

Same as to your last question -

In all fairness you would think with the changing of the times that this would have changed over the years.

Sure in the past it was the man's responsibility to ask the woman out and pay for everything. No reason now with so many career women, that who ever does the asking should pay.

And no reason that it can't be split from time to time.

As for the double standards in regards to both sleeping around - personally I don't think either should just "sleep" around because of all the so called after effects - (AIDS, STD's, unwanted pregnancies).

But you can't control what people think, say and feel. I personally don't think any less of one sex or the other for what they do in their personal lives.

I would though, love to be considered equal in my job, but am happy with what I have.

Heck of a long question - it is a question isn't it? When a Farang walks down the street in Thailand is he just a pedestrian or is he a potential customer? When there are unfavorable comments made behind his back should all Thai people then be called racists and bigots? Some women who marry foreigners do win the grand prize! They have a steady income to assist their families. Some of these women are set free from traditional taboos or mores and thrive. Some benefit and some do not. Some Asian women who marry Asian men may end up in a worse way than marrying a non-Asian! To only complain about foreign white men is a racist act too! Sometimes life is what you make of it! Isn't a wife also a bed partner??

Your question seems a little convoluted, but I think what you are saying is that you want women to pay their own way. Well, most women in this country do have to do that. AND come home and do all the housework, cooking, child care, etc.

If youre worried about having to pick up the tab for a drink, I don't think you need to be thinking about women at all.

If you were in the bargaining table, I'm sure some women would say they'd be willing to pay for their own meal if it means getting a good paying job and a chance to be a vice president of a company, etc. etc. Women never said they wouldn't trade off some of the benefits of inequality if given a chance to be mayor or president.

I generally paid my share of the bill while dating. If a man buys me a drink, that is his choice. Equality does not mean being rude and refusing gifts. But I don't expect men to buy me drinks, nor do I think it unreasonable for me to buy him a drink.

BTW, you're comparing apples to oranges. According to your logic, if women paid for their own dates then it would be more acceptable for them to sleep around. And by connecting men paying for dates and the acceptability of them sleeping around, you're essentially arguing that the most acceptable type of sex is the type you buy!

When I go out with a guy, I usually insist on paying my own way. At least if I don't feel attracted to the guy afterward, I won't "owe" him for the dinner he just bought.

I think that's why I'm still single -- which isn't a bad thing. Some guys are pigs.

I never ask I guy to pay my way or expect it. If he offers, he made the offer. I on many occasions have also offered to pay my way or take him out. It's a give take situation depending on what we want to do.

Can't we all just get along? I know men and women can get frustrated with our differences but all this gets so petty.
