I've heard Lindsay Graham and other rightcolumn members repeatedly stall for time "till General Petraeus returns" for his report.

Are we supposed to think it's acceptable for our young men to die while the General won't pick up a phone or use his computer connection to "give his report"? Why are the Republicans stalling on this issue. Was it the promise of oil to Halliburton's subsidaries?

He's already given a public assessment to the E.U. Can't the whitehouse just pick up a paper and read what he's already told the world?

Now, I'm sure that you could complete a report involving hundreds of thousands of military and civilian personnel involved in the work in Iraq, and the support structure thereof, in no time at all, but General Petraus is just a highly capable human, not a god like you. And there is the MINOR detail that some of his reports will include sensitive information. Unlike you, he does not have a tamper proof line, perhaps yours is through some other deity? You'll just have to wait for this poor, highly compentent, careful, considerate human being - who probably suffers daily from the deaths of people under his command - maybe you don't appreciate that as a deity, but people rise through the level of their competence in such situations, which the general has, for probably more years and experience than you've even been alive. Get Real!

Not a Republican, not a Democrat, not a Socialist or Communist! A United States citizen, and proud of it - especially since I've lived in a lot of other countries!

Isn't it the Democratic congress that wants everyone to stand in front of them to give an assessment...I'm sure he would rather not have to listen to the b/s and command troops to get things done.
