You can do to many, if you do a certain amount, over time the sit ups will be useless, your muscles will get so used to them they'll have no affect, but 200 is not to many, sounds like a good number, i know people who do 1000 a day....but different types, not 1000 a day of the same type, if you do different ones it is best.

As long as it's not hurting you it's okay. As soon as you feel pain, stop. And don't do any for a few days if you go that far. Any form of exercise can be carried too far, but for each person that limit is different.

I don't do full blown sit ups, I come from the "crunches" camp. That's when you kind of half sit up then go back down. It's a super way to tighten up yon flabby belly following drastic weight loss on the Atkin's diet!!!

It would depend on your own strength, do as many as feel comfortable with but be aware if you over exert yourself you may end up causing yourself more pain that its worth, 200 is probably ok

You can do your back in. I got up to 100 a day and then it ground my back too much. Anyway they don't do much for abs. Press-ups are better I think - really test the stomach muscles.
