D the definition of species is the ability to interbreed. That's why dogs are called breeds even though they have different body types. They can still mate and have viable offspring, but a horse and donkey are different species, even though they look very similar, because their offspring, a mule, is sterile.

Well its probably not d). They can have hybrids. Like mules. Hybrid of horse and donkey.
