Don't you think congress has enough control on our money and lives today without willing turn more over to them, after all only 14% of Americans even approve of congress.

This number, which is 1.8 trillion dollars, yes TRILLION, is the size of the health care industry, it represents 14% of our GDP.

There is a reason we spend so much, we like good health care. For those who want to throw out Canada as a good example of socialist health care, read the article by the Canadian below.

To give control of this of course comes with a cost, this number represents $5,959 for every man, woman and child in the US. That is less than what I pay today, why on earth would I want to increase my costs. You can buy a pretty good insurance policy for that kind of bucks, and you do know that will go up 40% with the Fed in.

there has to be a better way to address this perceived crisis than turning over control of anything to the government, if health care was run like a free market costs would go down, but is so heavily regulated, congress uses it like an iron fist to strangle America.

The only freakin CRISIS we have in health care is the politicians using this as a campaign issue! Too many Americans are being told and they believe there are people going without HEALTH CARE. They're not!! Even the people who don't have HEALTH INSURANCE ***DO*** have the health care they need. And it IS the best in the world!

Of course no one is proposing that the US nationalize the health care industry. We only need to provide health insurance not health care. And we already have an insurance system, Medicare. And Medicare has not taken over the hospitals, doctors or pharmacies but it has helped millions of older Americans afford paying for health care. That is all that is being proposed, helping people to pay for health care, not government provided health care. There is a very big difference between these positions.

To the superpolitics person: You make it sound so....painless. So ...simple. So....harmless. I think you must work for a politician or are one yourself.

Giving the government control of anything is the quickest way to ruin it. If you think that the gov will stop with the initial charge of providing medical coverage to the helpless, then you are naive. Or you think we are.

The government will never stop trying to grab territory once it gets its foot in the door. Its like a fungus that never stops growing. Do anything but let the government have control of it. Look what they've done to education, ferchrissakes!

According to the guy above me, all of us healthy working people should pay our ungodly taxes for everyone who's sick to have health care!!!

So fat slobs like M. Moore can have a heart attack and I will be working to pay for it! NO THANKS!
