be open to new possibilities. high school is so much fun if you let loose and try new things. im not saying lose your morals or go out and do something or associate with those who go against your core values, but this is the time to see what's out there. ur gonna be fine. freshman year is not that daunting as people make it out to be, but do be aware that academically it doesnt get much easier than ur first yr in high school (sadly). friends will be there to help you throughout ur four years, so pick good ones, cuz they will have a profound impact on how u'll end up in a couple of years. high school goes by fast, so cherish the moments while u can....

The thing is, many middle schools feed into one high school. So everyone from one middle school will just think you're from another, and think nothing of it. Making friends is making friends; it seems so weird and awkward and hard but in reality, it's completely natural. Anything you might have heard about being a "new kid" is so not true... People will dig the fact that you're "exotic!" Just don't hide in a corner, you'll find your niche!

Good luck!

i was nervous my first day too, but don't worry about it. The seniors aren't nearly as hard on you as many think, and being a senior this year, i know that i'm not going to be hard on the freshman either. Just start making friends that are freshman too, it'll be easier that way. Everyone is nervous about starting, you're not alone! Everything will work out fine.

High school is a chance for everyone to bridge out...a lot of new kids will be starting just like you and with all the middle/jr. high schools that feed into high schools, not everyone will know everyone anyway.

Look at this as an opportunity to start fresh and make a lot of new friends. Just relax and you will do just fine.

It is always scary starting a new school...but, think extra positive and put your positive thoughts with you at all times..and don't think about the "bad" ideas..".t'ink happy thoughts"..and go right into school and be nice and intelligent and just be the "real" you! Don't try to fake who you are...it gets to crazy when you are not yourself..and have to answer to too many people...whether you think what you really think and more..just be who you really are...and you will be fine!!

Have a good attitude. You need to be outgoing, but not up-in-your-face annoying. You need to be confident and take the initiative to introduce yourself to people. Take an interest in them and they will take an interest in you.

Look good. You need to be cute, yet mysterious at the same time, but you can't be walk-all-over-me looking. Make your look, look as if you didn't try so hard. Try not to be preppy. Despite what you have heard, it is not as important as you think.

Take a look around your new environment. Feel comfortable with where you are and what your going to be doing. If you feel relaxed you'll look less stressed and that helps your image and your attitude.
