As some of you want to believe.

It seems quite obvious what the motivation was to out her because of her covert status!

Discreditting her husband's findings in Niger that conflicted with the administrations claims that Saddam was trying to aquire yellowcake uranium.

Either way regardless of which is right ....doesn't the administration 'owe' her some kind of compensation because they caused her to lose her job?

They at least ought to prosecute Rove for his involvement and then make him actually serve his jail sentence.

First you have to assume she was "outed." The person who actually wrote the CIA guidelines that define when to prosecute the outing of CIA covert operatives has said repeatedly and publicly that Valerie Plame did NOT meet the defined criteria for outing a covert CIA operative.

So, first, there was NO outing. Beyond that, the question was WHO was this Wilson guy that supposedly discredited the yellowcake claims and HOW did he get the job? It was a reasonable question and all fingers pointed to HIS WIFE who got him the job. Since MOST of Washington, DC already knew she worked for the CIA, nobody thought of that aspect as being a problem...because it was common knowledge.

I can't comment on that. You put everything in perspective. They owe her compensation.

Those who call her a "secretary" are only making excuses because they know bush and his administration are corrupt and was willing to do anything to steal money from this country by making up a war in Iraq and not finishing the job in Bora Bora (that was, if people reading this did not know, was where they had Bin Laden cornered, but bush REFUSED to capture him).

By the way OMEGA MALE, if this is all true, then WHY THE HELL WAS LIBBY CONVICTED? You need to check the REAL facts, and not the ones told to you by the republican administration....

What would be the reason if she were covert? It was not to harm her. Everyone in DC knows her and she is well known in the cocktail circuits. I don't think there was any view that anything that was not known was being said.

The reason she was mentioned was because it was collusion between her and her husband that he be the one sent to Nigeria. A bit of sneaky dealing in an area she had had dealings in some five years earlier when her findings were just opposite of what her husband said the second time.

i keep wondering...if she was no one of any consequence, why was so much time and energy expended at the highest levels of the administration to out her, and why, if they did nothing wrong, did they lie so often and so vehemently about the whole thing? i still haven't heard of a credible reason for the outing...the only logical purpose would be to punish wilson by screwing up his wife's career...and, judging by the way this administration is run, it doesn't surprise me that they would sink that low...there is NO moral compass in the bush administration-none whatsoever! anything clinton did pales in comparison

The House of Cards shuffled and dealt. Some have been played, others have been reluctant to play, waiting for the nod to play the game of obfuscating the truth from, "WE THE PEOPLE".

True. You can't out a non-covert person.

There Plame was protecting the country. Then Cheney got mad at her husband and decided to send a message. Not just to Wilson, but to every federal employee in the nation: "See what I am willing to do to you, EVEN if you are in sensitive position."

Do you know the actual facts? Here they are, I challenge you to check them.

By he and her own admissions, her husband was never sent to Niger in any official capacity.

He never met with any official in Niger in any professional or official setting. Most were meetings in coffee bars.

By the CIAs own standards and admissions, Valerie Plume was not a covert agent.

No one was charged with outing her because of this.

Saddam WAS trying to acquire yellowcake uranium.

She wasn't covert, and it was a petty jab at the political hack husband of hers, Joe Wilson. The rest was a witch hunt instigated by the do nothing Dems.

None.. and we all know it. so that is why they did out her... to protect and cover up for Cheney's dirty tricks and to smear hr husband.

And yes.. if i were her I would be suing the government!
