The Venetian is by far my favorite hotel in Vegas. It's romantic, luxurious and the rooms are spacious and quiet. There are also some really great restaurants - Delmonico by Emeril is my favorite.
The main thing I like about the Venetian is the staff. They all bend over backwards to accomodate you. The maids greet you if they meet you in the hall and if you want any extra shampoo or lotion they are happy to provide. You can also call ahead to the hotel and arrange for special deliveries in your room - I asked for a birthday cake to be delivered for my husband and it arrived precisely when I asked for it plus they had personalized the cake with his name and even had a candle on the cake so he had a candle to blow out. The cake by the way was delicious.

My choices
Venetian
http://www.venetian.com >best suites, and value
Caesars Palace
http://www.harrahs.com >best resort
I prefer the deluxe Palace Tower rooms that overlook the "Venus" Pool area
If you're looking for great value
Stratosphere

I prefer the Grand Suites, but the Casino & Executive Suites are very nice also.
If I knew what amenities you were most interested in, I could give you a better suggestion. "add details" to your Q if you like.

Paris has rooms/suites that overlook the Fountains of Bellagio.

We go to LV 2-3 times a year for 2 weeks or more at a time and have for over 20 years. We just returned from a month long stay in LV(6/4 - 7/5)

Depends on your personal budget. There are family oriented hotels, which would be good for those who don't have a lot of money to spend. And there are high end places, that would cost more, but be nicer.
All the places on the strip would be nice. There are phone numbers to call out there to book rooms, I think. Some kind of agency. Or, you can start calling different places.

Stay at the Green Valley Ranch in Henderson. It's 10, 15 minutes from the strip, away from all the chaos... very nice place, and they have a shuttle to the strip.

The Wynn definitely. It is the most luxurious, and always has awesome shows. Many of the other hotels are--blah. Others are fun to visit. Like, I'd recommend a gondola ride at the venetian:)

Bellagio.
I stayed at the Wynn last Christmas and its really not that great. The walls were so thin I was waken up at 6am from all the racket the kids were making next door.
Remeber to request a floor w/o kids!
