These dreams really upset me. Every time my best friend is in my dream, I can hear her voice, but she's invisible. I think this is because she's just as real as me & you, but my family members like to insult me by saying she's nonexistent & imaginary, just because I won't introduce her to them. The reason being is because I've lost friends in the past because of my family laughing @ them & insulting them, & then my friends get mad @ me.

But it really upsets me that I can't see my friends in my dreams, but everyone can see them in real life-including me. & my family wants me to believe that I'm psychotic & crazy & delusional, when I'm not. Why does a 23-yr. old college grad need IMAGINARY friends? I sure don't. I'd rather be alone. I'm used to being an isolated loner. Now I did have imaginary friends when I was 5 & 6, but that's past, & they're using my past against me.

Well excuse me again, but your family consists of IDIOTS who are making it their lives work to torture you. The HELL with them. Live your own life and stop worrying about them. We cannot change our families even though most of us would want to.

It takes a while to get over the fact that our families cannot act as families should, but you can go on with your life even though you are not happy about the situation.

Good luck to you.

Wow, Dinky, it sounds like you're having a really hard time. Is there any where safe for you to land? Talking through these things with someone neutral and trustable will let you start to make sense - not just of the dreams but of your current context, because from what you've written it all sounds a bit smunched up together and overwhelming.
Your local health centre could be a place to start, or checking out local counsellors - make sure that they're registered with some kind of recognised board when vetting them.
If your car was spitting smoke, you'd look at the obvious causes, try and fix them, and if it was still struggling, you'd take it to a mechanic, right? It's sane, rational people who seek specialist help. Good luck with it if you decide it's what you will do.

Sounds like some sort of manifestation of regret. You may think you like to be alone consciously, but unconsciously you may long for something you used to have or wish you could have again. You're not crazy. Dreams tend to express what we don't really want to think about in waking life. Still, you'll always retain the choice of whether to act that information. Remember, we shouldn't always take our dreams too seriously.

It sounds like your family are the psychotic and crazy ones. You should tell them that they are acting immature and unreasonable. You should introduce your best friend to your family, and if they insult your best friend like they have all your other friends, then either they need to see a therapist or you have poor choice in friends.

When we are asleep our brains download the things that went on that day. If your family members had brought this up to you the day before the dream happened your brain could be replaying it so to speak.

It also could be stress over the subject.

Um..your parents are either being jerks or just kidding. And if you really have an Imaginary Friend then ur a weird kid, porb w/ skitzophrenia. THe dreams will go away if you prepare introduce ur friend, just introduce her to them, just warn her about them and hopefully they see her too.

You need to go to counselling, there is something in your past and/or going on right now that is weighing heavy on your mind and disturbing your sleep. That is the best advice I can give over the net. You need to go talk to a professional.

In my opinion you should introduce your firend to one and only one of your family members. THis will probably help with these dreams.

maybe you don't see ur friends in your dreams because you feel like your friendship ain't like 100% real, since your family doesn't know them and they make fun of ya (which sucks btw)
