Coddling moths on apple trees?

I have tried pheramone traps, any tips regarding your experiences?

This will probably sound nuts but I had all of the apple trees cut down. When I purchased the home it had many trees/fruit uncared for so they were a mess. I left 3 apple trees but no one wanted the juicy little buggers and every fall I had to rake them up, (1 person can only eat so many.) As I got older I got it was too much work.

Coddling moths are the worst fruit-tree pests here. They are the moths responsible for the worms often found in apples and sometimes in pears. Coddling moths lay eggs about 4 weeks after the petals fall off apple and pear flowers. These hatch in 8 to 12 days, producing tiny worms that tunnel into the developing fruit. Fruit tree sprays containing malathion are most effective and should be started 3 to 4 weeks after flower petals drop. Continue with these sprays every 2 to 3 weeks since coddling moths usually produce three generations a year in our area. Discontinue sprays at least 7 days before you intend to harvest fruit.
