i recently bought a four door 1968 ford fairlane 500 in awesome shape, its been sitting for a while but still runs great. now the only real problem im having with it is the turn signals arent working correctly. they blink ok when the head lights are off, but when i turn the head lights on they stop blinking. with the parking lights on, the passsenger side will blink but not the drivers side. i've replaced all of the bulbs, and the flasher switch. could it be the turn signal switch itself? also the emergency flashers do not work at all. thanks for any help guys and gals!

Could be either turn signal switch or headlight switch is bad....sounds more like you need to replace the headlight switch first unless you can trace where the power is coming through or not. Emergency flashers could be related or a bad flasher unit.

Nice car and well worth saving, go to your nearest auto electrician, they often will tell you what needs replacing without charge, but if it's something major, better they do it right first time, than you do it and burn the wiring out, sometimes we just have to bite the bullet

If it's a 60's model car all you really have to do is roll down the window and stick your arm out when you are going to turn. Hope this helps!!!

Try to locate, clean and tighten ground points. Sounds like a bad ground and electrical feed back.
