Yea...our old soccer coach passed away and he asked to be buried in his shorts, tshirt and baseball hat...so all of the team came like he knew us...in soccer shorts/jerseys or in shorts and flip flops.

No but I would..thanks for the idea....I don't care what people think and I'd rather be comfortable. If it was an issue with the family I would wear a nice pair of jeans and a dress shirt.
I would have a potluck wedding as well so I could have a massive party (spend a little more on the DJ) and not be worried about how good the food was, or having to cut back on the people I could invite. That being the case, wedding gifts would be optional.
God bless u,
Daniel

No, but a lady in sunglasses staggered into the middle of my brother's funeral eulogy, complaining that she couldn't see, and falling over chairs until her embarrassed husband put her in a seat. That was good for family jokes for some time after.

No, but I have seen jeans and tennis shoes. Which brings me to a question actually. When going to a funeral, whom are you paying respects to? The living? Or the dead? And if the dead don't care what you wear, why should we judge? Guess I'll post that sometime later.....

I went to a funeral with a friend several years ago. One of the ladies there had on a dirty t shirt with holes in it dirty jeans and no shoes with black feet. It was really sad.

No, and I think that is kind of disrespectful. The least you could do is put on some nice clothes instead of looking like you just came in off the beach or something.

At least they came. When it is my funeral it won't matter as long as you are there to comfort my family. Be yourself. I want to be buried in shorts.
