Do you think that women in the gulf (especially Dubai) tend to wear a lot of makeup? Why is this?

i once saw this lady in Jordan wearing a veil covering her whole face except her eyes, you couldnt even see her hands she had gloves on. but she had SO MUCH eye makeup on!!
i guess since they cant show off their bodies, they wear the makeup like that to draw attention?
i dont know. :P

What is too much for some persons is normal for another ones.
It is a personal option.
I like very much maken up women.
Above all the eyes.
Is well know that most of the arab women have beautiful eyes.......why not to make them up ????
I myself like to do it (eyes I mean)

they do.i don't know.when people have some limitations and they should move in some limited boundaries in a country or society,they go to extreme when given some freedom.
and it can be passed to generations.
religious countries limit their women and nowadays they cant control them and they are competing with other countries so they do lots of things other women do in other countries including make up and many things.

they do wear too much makeup i think its because since they cant show their body and hair they put lots of makeup so they can seem beautiful
