Go with a good brand of rechargeable batteries. Also get rechargeable batteries that are made for digital cameras, they will last a lot longer then regular batteries and will save u LOTS of money in the long run, i have had a digital camera for about 4 yrs. and ive used a pair of $15 Rayovac NiMH batteries and they have worked great. If you do buy some other rechargeable batteries make sure they are NiMH batteries, they will last a lot longer then just regular ones. Hope this helps!

Buy rechargeable Alkalines. Lithium batteries would be expensive.
I bought a whole bunch on Ebay.
Look for something 2200mAh (milli-Ampere per Hour) or higher. A rating 2500mAh would be optimum. That gives you greater capacity to take more pictures.
Energizer (Eveready) has a nice set.
Look on ebay for Item number: 270145358316.

Radio Shack has Lithium batteries in AA, but they're pretty expensive, about $5 per battery.

Ni-MH batteries are a lot cheaper and can usually be found in any hardware store or Costco along with a charger. They come in at least AA and AAA sizes.
Lithium batteries are extremely expensive.

Yes, you can. But lithium batteries may perform better. One vendor is Pacific Power Batteries; they have a web site.

you can buy lithium batteries in any voltage.. i have the duracell rechargables...they work well but they die out fast when you have used them for a while (i have used mine for 2+ years)
by the way it's bad to use alkaline (reg) batteries for your digi cam, it can permanently damage the camera. i first used alkaline bats in my camera and it broke, i had to buy a new camera
