ok my friend wants to come and live with me? shes 17 and idk if she can get her social securty number or her birthcertifacte but thats not why i am asking can i go to Jail for this and if so how long??

Unless she says " she was kidnapped " you can't go to jail, but check with your local law enforcement agency. NY laws might be different from the laws where you live. As long as someone know where the child is... She not considered a missing(NY law).

She is underage and if parents report her as a run away then yes harboring a juvenile, best bet would be to notify her parents as to her whereabouts and then maybe they will give some time for her to work out what the problem is

if she is only 17 shes not the legal age is she .don't take the chance .don't know how long in jail but any time in there will
not be good

your friend may be using you to run away from problems in her current situatioin. probably not the best idea for you.
