True ... I don't know what you want explained ... you already explained it ... Only you can control your reaction to a situation even if you can't control the situation itself.

To say that that statement is "true", you would have to have complete control of your emotions, which is impossible. Someone might say that they will never cry and then see their dog hit by a car; someone might say that they will never have a violent outburst or lose their temper and then one day walk in on their wife in bed with someone else. So I am going to say "false". You cannot control everything, including how you respond to anything that happens because that would be again mean that you have complete control.

True. For example, I can't control whether or not another driver will pull out in front of me, but i CAN drive slowly and responsibly and never assume other drivers to always follow the law.

Although other people are outside our personal control, we are able to react to their decisions however we want through our own rational decisions. To be in complete control of yourself, you must think clearly, responsibly, and intelligently in all situations. Always stay cool and calm.

That is very true. That is the best way to exert a little control over events of which you have no control! Excellent question.

Hi!

True. The woman who sent five monks to help me set up a project for sex-industry workers and the homeless in my home city twenty four years ago put it this way:

ANYWAY

People are unreasonable, illogical and self-centered.
Love them anyway!
If you do good, people will accuse you
of selfish, ulterior motives.
Do good anyway!
If you are successful, you will win
false friends and enemies.
Succeed anyway!
The good you do will be forgotten tomorrow.
Do good anyway!
Honesty and frankness make you vulnerable.
Be honest and frank anyway!
What you spend years building may be
destroyed overnight.
Build anyway!
People really need help
but may attack you if you help them.
Help them anyway!
Give the world the best you have
and you’ll get kicked in the teeth.
Give the world the best you’ve got anyway!

true!!

well suppose you find out you got rejected from your top college...that wasnt in your control. that was in the admissions officer control. however, your response IS in your control.

for example, you can become depressed, drop out of high school, and stop caring about school. OR you can go to your second choice college and make the best of oppurtunities there.

so you see...whatever condition you find yourself in, you have to sulk it up and MOVE ON
