Because perfume is a synthetic/chemical material. It's the same as any other - like: a candle smells great, but you don't wanna eat the wax.
Remember, perfume is formulated for that purpose alone - to smell good ... we as chemists are able to acheive this with the right balance of chemicals, but it's not intended for ingestion.

They say you're supposed to taste perfume and if it tastes like soap then it is not your fragrance. Ah, don't gussle to taste because the chemicals in a large volume are harmful, but just a slight taste gives you the indicator.

what are you talking about...it smells and tastes good!! you've probably been drinking the knock-off perfumes...lol it's just cuz of the chemicals they put inside....stop digesting perfume go drink some water instead.

BUT have you ever tried Thrills gum. I don't know if they still make it. It looked like purple chicklets in a yellow pack.
Now that tasted like sweet perfume.
Not bad.

I don't know, but I licked a bar of strawberry scented soap and it didn't taste good, either.

because it has certain chemicals in it that makes it smell good. but mostly no chemicals taste good... blah...

flowers smell good but you can't eat them, chemical make-up could be destructive

same reason lip gloss and make up do, generally they smell like flowers...why would you want to eat flowers?
