Example,a friend I had just recently received a big "telling off" from me. It was long overdue, the way she spoke to me and treated me was really bad. She acted as if she owned me and i'd just take it. I realise that I should have ended the friendship better but to me it seemed the only way to really end it was by saying how I feel.

All of a sudden i am the BIGGEST female dog in the world. Where as, this friend of mine has said things to me like I said to her and I would take it, but as soon as I did it to her everyone turns on me.

If I was nasty to start with, If I said the things I did, people would just take it as me being normal.

Do you find this? Have you had any experiences with this.

I'm not saying i'm a perfect angel, yeah I can be nasty sometimes but never as much as her. But the one time I do - then i'm just the most horrible thing ever.

Some people are used to crapping on everyone and never suffering any negative consequences. I'm glad you told them you weren't going to take it anymore. Good for you. You're not a female dog, you're a smart cookie that defends herself. I would rather be alone than with people that treat me badly. A dear friend of mine said to me, "You're a real nice lady until someone pisses you off!" and I think you're the same way LOL

Well, it will undoubtedly blow over eventually and every now and then a person who is being taken for granted or treated like a door mate needs to vent ,and some times , at those times we kind of forget to temper what is said, because it needs to be done in such a manner that people understand. Get their attention so to speak. Any body that is incapable of understanding probably wasn't much of a friend any way.

If a friendship could be ended so easily, it probably wasn't that strong to begin with. My best friend and I are able to say ANYTHING to each other and go on without ending the friendship. Don't worry too much about it.

yep being nice , which you should be, you tend to get hurt more too. BUT being nice and Honest helps to avoid these confrontations.
