I am 32 weeks and I am looking to buy a baby matress. I was wondering if anyone has any suggestions?? or know what brand is a really great matress?? Also any matress's you would not reccomend? I have a convertable crib that will turn into a toddler bed so I will be using the matress in the crib and the toddler bed so I would like it to last a long time. Any help would be greatly appricated. Thank you!

if you go to a leading baby store like mother care for example or even toy r us they have loads of different sizes and brands personally i suggest the one that calls to you and buy two one for when it's a cot and one for when it's bed but keep that one in it's packaging. to keep materess looking and feeling good buy materess protectors they are water and pee and sick proff so it doesnt go on the materess they still need washing when you change the bedding so make sure you but a few they saved my life and my babys cot/ bed.

I would call to manufacurer of the mattress and complain, get a refund and buy a different matress, I would not put her in the crib with that gap... at 6.5 months she could easily get stuck.

I bought the matress from USA Baby. It has two sides, one for infants under 1, and then you flip the matress and it's slightly softer for toddlers.

they are essentally all the same, the more $ you spend the higher quality the construction may be, but there are few differences. I think we bought the mid price level sealy mattress ($60 or so 6 yrs ago, its prbably more now). My son used it for almost 4 yrs, and we will use it for baby #2.
