I own a Pizza shop franchise, and I had some trouble, with my manager. She is a fully certified manager and just recently Thursday July 12 she came in and said, " I quit." and then I need to leave I wasn't there one of my other managers spoke to her, and she said I need to leave to loiusiana for a family matter (Her sister is in a comma) and then my manager said ok you can go I understand completley.
The around thirthy minutes later a friend of hers I believe calls and threatens my manager of assaulting her, andsays she will report him to the police, for doing nothing. Then today Sunday July 15th the same lady calls and says I will sue you for not giving me the paycheck today.

I cannot contact the manager she is in Louisiana I believe and I have no contact of her. And the same lady that threatened my manager calls and says so I would hand her the paycheck. WHAT SHOULD I DO IN THIS SITUATION? PLEASE HELP!

Without WRITTEN authorization from the person you are paying, you CAN'T legally give the pay to ANYONE. If the 'friend' is dumb enough to sue, counter sue for 'abuse of process'. On the next payday, sent the paycheck to the ex-managers last known address via certified mail. When it comes back undeliverable, keep the unopened envelope. It is irrefutable proof that the attempted to pay.

I think you need permission from the employee to give her paycheck to another person. You should contact your state's workforce commission for guidance.

I don't know but you're not required to give a paycheck to anyone but the employee unless you have their written permission to do so.

send it signature conformation to her address so that the mail man can only let her and only her sign for it not the other lady.
