I asked a question last week why does our government give money on other countries and states like Kansas and NO,& OK have to wait. for help???
As an American would you help another American before you help another country. Would you send blankets and sheets and towels to those in America who lost them to floods??
or Would you rather brag about what you did for a far away land???

The small towns of less than 6000 people do not have the ability to help their own . They need private help like you and me to kick in.
my question is would you help or just walk away and say I support you just don't ask for anything

The US spends almost nothing on aid to other countries compared to what it spends here. It's not the federal governments function to provide the things that you describe, that is done at the local level primarily. Funding comes into play if it declared a disaster area but you won't see government agencies at the federal level providing "stuff." Even FEMA doesn't do that.

Individuals, charities, local governments, state governments, the US government always help US citizens when they are in need. We can also help people in other countries, if and when we choose.

The US government spends only 0.17% (less than 1%) of its budget on non-military foreign aid. If anything, we should be increasing that number.

I agree with you 100 percent. I am a believer of the saying that "charity begins at home." Why do we spend billions of dollars each month in Iraq while our own people are suffering?
