Definitely. When my children were 7 they were in bed before 10 unless we were at a family get-together or there was a good reason for them to be up later. Even at 10 & 12 they were still in bed before 10 unless there was a good reason. Now, in their teens, they are still in bed by 9:30 at the latest on school nights.

I would say a school night in the room by 9:00. Lights out at 9:30. Friday and Saturday nights and during the summer, I would say at the latest 10:30 lights out .

My two are ages 6 and 9. Both are in bed by 8:30 pm, tops, unless we've been out a little later than their bedtime. Day of the week is irrelevant.

edit sorry i'm still asleep, yes my 7 year old was in bed at 8 pm i think even saturday night,he was maybe 10 before i allowed that, i always read to them & when that stopped at say about 10 i would let them read in bed for an hour themselves to encourage them to read :) you didn't want to know all that but its free sooooo lol :)

It depends on the child...if they are mature and well bahaved, a.k.a. a good kid, then theres nothing wrong with them staying up a little later on a Saturday night.

Yeah that sounds about right..but on a Saturday,if he wanted to stay up one more hour to watch a special show I'd let him..he's a good boy,quiet..and I can handle that..
