They're awful and fake. MTV used to play music videos and now all they have on is junk like "My Super Sweet 16" and bad dating shows. VH1, Bravo, etc have all gone crazy with so called reality shows. MTV should rename itself RTV! Agree? Disagree?

MTV is the worst possible place to watch "reality shows" seeing as all of them are anything but. The shows you've mentioned as well as Laguna Beach and many others are carefully constructed by producers and it's lame. There are GOOD reality shows however, but not that many. Big Brother (I only watch the US version) is really good because you can watch them 24/7 and when under constant surveillance like that it's hard to fake who you are.
Also, another favorite of mine is the Kathy Griffin's My Life on the D-List because it's so funny, yet deals with real life drama such as getting a divorce from her husband and having her father die. It's quality entertainment.
There are good reality shows out there, but you won't find them on music channels. What I do is usually give one episode of a reality show a shot and if it isn't entertaining enough I don't ever watch it again. Most of them you'll want to pass up because they suck, but you'll most likely want to continue watching a couple of them.

They are really going overboard.
I used to love Big Brother. I'm not even watching this season. They actually have Big Brother After Dark on Showtime 2 seven days a week. Enough!
And how many washed up stars will VH1 come up with..???GMAB.

first of all, permit me admit I do rejoice with countless actuality shows ( the magnificent Race, vast Brother, Hell's Kitchen, American idol ( Auditions in basic terms), the genuine international, and Rob & vast), and that i've got no longer any subject with new ones that have interesting premises. yet these days, the hot shows look extra like copies of older shows ( Pirate grasp looks like Survivor on a deliver). As for why there are maximum of of them, it has to do with fee. look at vast Brother. you have 14 human beings residing in a house for 3 months. One is going domicile a week. the sole substantial fee to the teach's makers are nutrition, utilities, shape, and prize money. even however, it is payed for by the two advertising and the internet internet site the place you pay to observe the domicile customer stay. learn that to universal scripted T.V. shows, wherein a single episode can come on the element of one million money ( countless episodes of 24...).

Yes, goes to show that in this day in age, there is not a lot of people with brilliant ideas to even produce decent to good shows. TV sucks in general, there are only a handful that are worth watchin.

I hate them. 'The Simple Life' was bad enough! Now they have 'Dancing With The Stars' and 'Are You Smarter Than A Fifth Grader'. I HATE RTV!!!!! lol

i think some of the reality shows are ok but they are getting out of control with them. I hate the reality shows where there is a competiton and the loser from the final 2 gets there own spinoff show such as I Love New York and now i hear there is a chance that Chance is getting his own show!!!

those reality shows are so boring.... its all the same stuff
its never really reality cus they never live in a regular place that the show didnt buy for the reality people
MTV never actually makes a real reality show....
cus she always put the people in some kind of 'dream' house

YES!!!!!!!! What did we watch before reality shows? the only show i watch is dancing with the stars but shows like real world, or dating shows are awful.

They are awful, and they aren't even really reality shows. They're just as staged and planned out as any other show. I'm honestly sick of television period. The number of quality shows on TV today is limited.
