I have a wireless router and it's all plugged into a power surge protected extension.
I would never click on the link to get the free laptop because you don't get anything for free in this life! You have to have 2 products that they are advertising AND give them your friends email addresses. I like my friends too much to inflict a load of spamming on them!

Depends on what you're doing with it. Videos and games kill the battery faster than just casual web browsing.

Usually an hour to an hour and a half.

You might just as well have asked "How long is a piece of string?" There are several things to take into account, such as how old is the battery in your laptop? How fully charged is it? Did you run the battery completely flat between each successive recharge?

All of these determine how well your battery can accept charge.

Without knowing any of these details it would be difficult to say with any degree of certainty.

Do you know, for instance, how long the laptop would keep the computer running for at any other time? That might give you some idea.

run the pointer over the battery icon by the clock bottom right hand corner....... if you are that worried about the lightening you may want to use a wireless connection as a strike on the telephone lines will also damage your IT equipment, so you could lose your router as well.

Best invest in a good surge plug as well, the better ones you can also protect your phone line

Hover your mouse over the battery icon near your system clock. It should give you an estimated time of battery charge.
