my brother's best friend is one year older than me and we are pretty good friends. but then, one day he cam up to me and told me that "he knew i liked him". i did not know where in the world it came from but i was freaked out b/c i really don't like him. he told the whole school and most believed him. now, alot of my mom's friends and even my brother in law think that i like him and it makes me so mad because i really don't!!!!!!!! i hate his guts now(i know that's not very good to do but in this situation i can't avoid it)!!! what should i do?! and what should i say to him!?? please no stupid answers! i really need help on this!

He probably said it because he is the one that really likes you. Just ignore him when he is around. If someone brings it up just wave a hand and say, " no more than I did yesterday." Or" Just not feeling it today." Then walk away or change the subject. Eventually they will quit. Right now they keep going because they know it has an effect on you. Don't let it bug you.

Approach him calmly or ask him to come over when nobody else is around (it makes it easier when you are alone). This is what you say
If you want to be nice- "I really need to talk to you about what you have been telling everyone. I know that you think that I like you and I am sorry if I have given you the idea the I do, but in reality I just want to be friends with you."
If he gives you an attitude about it don't fight back just leave or ask him ASK him to leave. If you two start and argument then that will destroy your friendship or he could possibly tell people lies about what really happened. However if he is at least half of a man with half of a heart he won't spread rumors or lies.
If you want to be mean- "Litsen here, I don't know how you got the idea that I like you but I don't so stop telling people that I do right now! If you keep up this crap then I am going to beat you into a coma!
I suggest the first one.....

Well alot of times when people start rumors, it's simply because they want attention themselves. Sounds like your brothers friend just wanted to see if he could get you to respond and you did just that. But if you want to stop all of this Completely. Don't try to defend yourself anymore. Once he sees that it doesn't bother you like it did in the beginning, then he will Leave you alone and so will your family.

Just pull him aside and tell him like it really is, nothing can beat the truth... then iam sure once that is out in the open all the other rumors will subside. Just tell him what you really think, well maybe not hating his guts- just the fact that you really arent interested in him... Good luck!

These kind of situations are kind of hard to get rid of. You should just stop talking to him and tell everyone you do not like him. I know it bugs you, but the best thing to do is let this all blow over.

Clear the air. Let your family know, in no uncertain terms, that this guy is a liar and a braggart, and that you have no feeling for him in the least.

tell him you really don't like him.
tell everyone you know.
also post it somewhere online lots of people will see it (maybe facebook) and make sure you throw in lots of bad names to call him--then he'll know for sure you don't like him. if you don't want to call him names then just tell him you REALLY don't like him and are furious at him. also try talking to your brother, and tell everyone you can how much of an asshole you think he is. good luck!

this had happened to me too. In my school there were these girls who always made up lies about who i liked. Anyway just ignore him at all times and don't answer him and soon he'll realize you really don't like him and give up

You could tell him that you don't like him, like tell him the truth. Or you could say that you only like him as a friend but not boyfriend or girlfriend.

force him to tell everyone the truth
ask him why he did it in the first place, is it the other way around?
