First of all, thank you for your service to this country. I think you'll find that Colorado is one of the more pro-military places around, so you will be thanked often.

I'm a big fan of Littleton, Highlands Ranch, and southern Lakewood. Denver and Colorado generally are very, very kid-friendly. Everything here is geared to families with children mostly because it seems that just about everyone is married with kids.

But you'll find the best schools and neighborhoods in the southern and western suburbs, in my opinion.

Again, welcome to Denver. I think you'll just love it here for your growing family....

Highlands is definetely a young persons neighborhood as the person above states. The highlands does have a lot of young people living thehre but it is also very urban.... You might want to check that out, also look into Lakewood. Lakewood is a very large suburb (about 1 million) directly west of denver. If you plan on starting a family or wish you have a quiter neighborhood then I would suggest Lakewood. Its a stones throw from downtown Denver. I don't really like the other large eastern suburb (Aurora) but thats just me as some of the southern parts of Aurora can be nice.

Denver may be the play where in actuality the glow can sunlight 300 times of year. Denver is a successful ethnic world, diverse neighborhoods, and normal splendor combine for the world's most magnificent playground and with hotelbye you can see how to get there. Denver is the spot for: World-class attractions, natural miracles, thriving arts scene, dozens of progressive and acclaimed restaurants and nightlife choices galore. Denver definitely started using it all. In Denver you can go to the Mount Evans and the Mount Evans Highway. The Mount Evans Highway is a periodic road which is closed throughout the winter months

My wife, 2 kids, and I moved to Brighton last year and we love it. I'm with DPD and my commute is 20-30 minutes, depending on traffic. Newer area is off I-76 and Bromley with houses from 150k-300k. (New ones!) There are many parks and community pools. Our kids go to the charter school which is about 7 years old, K-8.
Good luck to you and your family, and your career!

I would have to recommend Centennial based on your criteria. Highlands Ranch is a nice place to settle down and has won national awards for it's layout and amenities, but in my opinion it's a bit pricey with smaller lots. We are in a buyers market right now, so you have alot of options. A good web page to look at is recolorado.com

Lakewood...but specifically (SP?) the Green Mountain area, really close to the foot hills, amazing view of fireworks at Bandmier, but you can't hear the cars there, so that's YET ANOTHER plus, great schools, quiet suburban area...being a teenager, I don't really like the quiet part, but...it is *frown*

Littleton or Highlands Ranch are both great places to live. Littleton is a lot closer to the mountains
