It seems to me that I have read this term in rental regulations but cannot find it just now while I need it. Can anyone give me a link to how the law describes peaceable enjoyment. Specifically NH rental law would be great.

I have an apartment in NH that I rent out and noise is the biggest issue, after paying the rent on time....I will not tolerate too much noise.
Here are some sites for you:

I think the peaceable enjoyment phrase is in the second one. Good luck!

good luck landlords are scum and laws in most states favor them whole heartedly. I live in a liberal town with fair laws and they still find ways around it
Peaceful enjoyment is a tough to define legal standard that is supposed to be the goal of tenancy that you can enjoy your home as if it were your own as long as you do not trash it

Peaceful Enjoyment, also called Quiet Enjoyment is a concept grounded in English Common Law and dates back centuries. Some states and local jurisdictions have codified it in law though not all have. Concepts grounded in Common Law are legally enforceable even if not written into legislative law and Quiet Enjoyment is one such concept.

The concept of Quiet Enjoyment means that a tenant has the right to occupy a property without undue interference from the landlord or his agents as long as the rents are paid on time and the tenant takes proper care of the property. It basically implies that you have most of the rights of occupancy that you would have if you were the owner of the property, aside of course from rights to sell or encumber (use the property for collateral for a loan) the property or make most modifications to the property.

Quiet Enjoyment also bars undue interference from the owners or occupants of adjoining or nearby properties. A neighbor who plays loud music or throws wild parties at all hours denies you your right to Quiet Enjoyment as much as a landlord who walks into your home unannounced and without notice. In this case, the right of Quiet Enjoyment extends to property owners, not just tenants.

Quiet Enjoyment is a two-way street. You have the right but so do your neighbors. You cannot do anything that would interfere with their right to Quiet Enjoyment any more than they can interfere with yours.

there are statues that state you have the right to peace....
but landlords could care less...let me tell you we have a landlord (from another country no less)...who has 2 kids that scream continously from about 9:30 am until approx 6pm...are we allowed to make noise....NO...but when we complain...they don't care....their children even approach the tenants and hit us and run us over with their toys....we can't get anything done...hate our landlords!

if you do make a complaint...be ready for a 30 day notice....that is what our's threaten everybody with...and the owner doesn't care (think they are related!)

Sucks...money sucking vampires!
