I thank everyone who answered my question! You all made me feel much better mentally! I'm 27 years of age, and 4 years ago I started with the mood swings and usually I get them 1 or 2 days before I get my period! Like a premonition! The worst part of this is that I then accidentally create fights with my husband. He doesn't believe me that's it's mood swings. :(

Gawd! How old are you? The "curse" sucks!! Some women commit murder before, during and after their period. Their hormones are whacked or something. Yup. Definitely! Mood swings from minimal to the extreme. There's lots of help out there now for that sort of stuff. Health food stores carry a great variety. I found something that performed a small miracle on me. I started taking Xiao Yao Wan. My husband couldn't believe the change. What amazed me was it was happening within hours of my first dose! There weren't anymore mood swings and these little pills [I call miracle pills] regulated my time and my periods became less severe in flow. That is my remedy for me. It's all Chinese herbal plants which I started out taking 8 pills twice a day. Once you start knowing your body's signals, you can regulate them to your need. I have been on them for 4+ years now. I don't go anywhere without them. I recommend them to anyone who is experiencing problems with their curse. I sure hope this helps.

Most than %75 of woman have mood swings during this drain of hormones.
When a woman goes threw their menstrual period their bodies loose their main female hormones, thus starts the bleeding.
Hormones control you physically as well as mentally.
The symptons of PMT only last a few days before menistration and the first couple of days after bleeding begins.
Try to avoid stressful, emotional strain during this time and get plenty of rest and drink plenty of water.
If menistration tends to affect you, tell close people around you that its that time again, so they can respond to you in a more sympathetic manner.
PMT can be treated to a certain degree by PMT medication.
Symptons can include the mood swings as well as headaches, bloating, cramping and back pain.
If bleeding is severe with excessive cramping and back pain, please see a doctor as this might indicate that you could have another problem, such as endometreosis.
I have endometreosis and I thought for years that my excessive symptoms were normal. So if your worried about it seek medical advice.

Yes, periods can cause a woman to have mood swings. One thing I found helpful for dealing with that issue is that of taking B6. You can buy it in a bottle by itself or as part of B Complex (I take it this way). You can find it in the major drugstores.

If the mood swings are super severe I would recommend getting in touch with your doctor to have them further evaluate the situation to see what they think is going on. Also, ask them if they think it would be all right for you to take B Complex.

Mood swings are common before your period starts. I was doing the same thing with my boyfriend...causing fights. I know when its starting to happen that I need to do some serious retail therapy or just escape into the tub for awhile and take a relaxing bath.

Yes, during menstrartion hormonal levels are irregular and mood swings do in fact occur. Most of the time, a woman's attitude becomes more short tempered and become easily upset.

Its helps with the mood swings, fluid retention, bloating etc. It might be worth the couple bucks to save you from the anger issues, your hubby will be pleased.

Yes indeed they can. The hormones that cause a woman to have her period can also make them moody. And if not the hormones, the cramps and bloating sure doesn't help a bad mood.
